Ric Byrne Stripped Of WWC Heavyweight Title

In a decision made by the World Wrestling Coalition's Executive Committee, Ric Byrne has been officially stripped of the WWC Heavyweight Title.

As everyone is aware, Ric's current injured status makes it impossible to perform as a professional wrestler.  WWC's decision was made with the interests of maintaining the integrity of the WWC Heavyweight Championship by allowing WWC wrestlers to compete for the prize, rather than allow it to become inactive until Byrne is cleared to return to wrestling.

Byrne, who had won the championship for the popular "Superstar" Shawn Parks on 05/06/06, is still the longest reigning WWC Heavyweight Champion to date.  Combined with the three month reign prior to being stripped of the title, Byrne has a total of one year and two months as the top man in the WWC - and we have no doubt that he will return to make an impact in the near future.
